*I recommend Sherwin Williams “Emerald” in Matte sheen, which is zero-VOC.

2x Sea Shell (Chalk-type) Paint Recipe

Doubling the minerals will fill more cracks on a weathered piece of furniture and make the finish more velvety.

Stir two Tablespoons of cool water into 4 Tablespoons of Sea Shell Minerals(calcium carbonate) & mix until smooth. Add to one cup of acrylic latex paint* and mix well.

*I recommend Sherwin Williams “Emerald” in Matte sheen, which is zero-VOC.

Sea Shell Minerals will not cause your paint to jell or become hard, like plaster of paris and grout mix. Use it within 30 days of mixing the recipe to insure freshness.

These chalk-type paints adhere and cover well and dry fast! Apply one thin coat, allow several hours to dry, sand very lightly and then apply a second coat. Allow paint to cure a few days before applying a clear acrylic top coat, like Minwax Polycrylic.
